UCG crisis hits the Philippines

The Philippines is the latest region to be ripped apart by the ongoing schism in the United Church of God with a pastor and local elder resigning. The list of departing elders on the UCG Current Crisis site is now just one below the 150 mark . An interesting visual representation of the divided sect, which is being updated regularly, is available on Stan Gardner's site using Google maps.

  1. Stan Gardner isn't updating the map as often as you might think.

Two comments were submitted last Sabbath of UCG ministers in the U.S. who said they were staying, but the map hasn't been undated to reflect that. Make of that what you will.

  2. Richard,

Ambassador Reports doesn't produce the map, just links to it.

The Google map was updated 20 hours ago, and has had over 13,600 views.

Try leaving a comment on the map's website for any requests you may have.

A visual representation on a map sure beats the old days when you couldn't find a local WCG minister or church in the phone book to save your life.

On second thought, maybe that was a good thing.

  4. Richard..I'm pretty sure he just got caught off guard, never seeing what was coming, and simply ran out of pins.

  5. Purple Hymnal,

According to the map, elder Lorne Davies resigned in Vancouver four days ago.

David Palmer is currently listed at the UCG website, meeting at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Surrey.

Richard Kmodras has piano arrangements with audio for four hymns of his online, with four part harmonies, linked to the Vancouver UCG.

  6. I put links up to the Louisville webcast at Ambassador Reports in case anyone is interested (not that this constitutes any sort of endorsement).

Some who are there haven't yet resigned from the UCG.

The COGaWa webcast is supposed to resume at 8:30 am Eastern Standard Time.
