There seems to have been
an outbreak of End Times frenzy among fringe Mormons in Utah. Indeed, some of this stuff is worthy of a William Dankenbring. Blood moons, time cycles and - wait for it - Holy Days.
Thus, they believe, starting Sept. 13, the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days, there will be another, even larger financial crisis, based on the United States’ “wickedness.” That will launch the “days of tribulation” — as described in the Bible.
Beginning on the thirteenth huh? And today is the 20th? Must be a slow start. Maybe we could fly in Bob Thiel to set 'em straight.
Oh well, THAT didn't happen. I'm guessing the prediction was "right on" but somebody just added up the days incorrectly.
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another disease that has been floating around out there ever since the series of "blood moons" captured public attention. Some groups are directly linking the blood moons to the shemitahs, which is a curious thing for most people from the Armstrong background, because the so-called land sabbaths were counted from one's baptism into Armstrongism, as opposed to being an internationally based event based on the Jews' preservation of the "oracles".
ReplyDeleteIn a way, this reminds me of the apprehension regarding the most recent appearance of Halley's Comet, supposedly referenced by Nostradamus as the "bearded star" in one of his apocalyptic quatrains.

The more these things don't happen, the more sure we are that they are about to.
