Trump doesn't like losers

Donald Trump excites a lot of attention well beyond the borders of the USA. I still haven't met a Kiwi of whatever political persuasion who can believe that this man could actually become president of the most powerful country on earth.

The billboard shown is now on display outside St Luke's Presbyterian Church in Auckland.

Minister Glynn Cardy commented:
"For those of us at St Luke's, the cross is about politics. Jesus was killed - violently, publicly and shamefully - because he spoke truth to power and confronted the leaders of his day about their treatment of the outcasts.
"To the Trumps of his day, and to those who see winners as having money and power, the Jesus of the Bible was a loser who associated with those rejected by society. And he died broke.
"Jesus had an alternative vision of reality, however. He was a person who sided with minorities and those who were most vulnerable, and it was this that got him killed."
You can read the story in today's NZ Herald here.

  1. Actually the real persecution today comes from the Christian/Muslim Establishment.
Just try doubting the historical existence of "Jesus" in out society.
It's clear Reverend Glynn Cardy hasn't read 'The Jesus Puzzle'(2005).

  2. What you are seeing is strategy gone wrong. I believe that since Ted Cruz is a radical Tea Party member, Trump was sent in to make Cruz appear normal. There are no "normal" candidates left in the race at this point, and to the Republican establishment's horror, the Republicans who quit voting are coming out in force for the Donald. The establishment is attempting as we speak to derail the runaway Trump train.

I've got to agree with Bob on this. The most "normal" candidate at this point is Hillary, who is unique because she would be the first woman president but is otherwise near the center of American politics on most issues.

Also "normal" is John Kasich, who is still officially in the race although wayyyy behind.

And may the establishment be derailed. The killing of the people in the middle east must stop. Reign in the industrial military complex. Or, and prosecute the war criminals Busch, Cheney, Obama,etc...the list is huge.

  4. The establishment already funnelled most of its money into Jeb Bush's campaign, and got precisely squat for it.

If the establishment backup, Queen Hillary, loses, we are in for an interesting election. Ironically, the anti-establishment Sanders might be their best hope to keep Trump out of the White House.

  5. One would think that out of 300 million people we could find two viable presidential candidates -- but no, not a chance.

Where do you suppose they went?

  6. I wonder if anyone ever compared Donald Trump's personality to Herbert Armstrong?
