As promised/threatened I've uploaded an article on the authorship of 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy and Titus, the letters in the New Testament known as the Pastorals. The original version - written as a university assignment - has been modified to make it a bit more readable.

Very nice job on your paper Gavin. One other real factor in deciding if Paul was the author of any particular book is simply to count the "I" "Me" and "my"s in the text. One of the arguments against Pauline authoriship of Hebrews is the dramatic drop in personal references from known Pauline writings.
ReplyDeleteIn the COG world, it would be like trying to determine if a sermon Text was Dave Pack's or Aaron Dean's. Just count the personal references to the self...problem solved
